Impact Measurement and Management Fellowship (IMMF)

Fellowship Outline

Offered by African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) in conjunction with Impact Frontiers, the Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) Fellowship is a 4‑week, fully virtual, cohort‑based programme designed to equip you with the frameworks and tools to integrate impact measurement and management (IMM) alongside financial risk and return into your investment and management practices.

Grounded in the Fundamentals of IMM (FIMM) and the Impact Performance Reporting Norms (IPRN), and adapted specifically for the African context, this fellowship will transform how you approach the ways in which impact is framed, measured, and managed – in order to enable the integration of IMM concepts, practices, and decisions for targeted and accountable capital deployment.

Why Join?

  • Led by global experts. Delivered by Impact Frontiers – stewards of the Five Dimensions of Impact and the IPRN – in partnership with AVPA.
  • Built on globally recognised frameworks. Draws on the FIMM and IPRN, giving you a structured way to navigate the key concepts, language, and emerging practice in IMM.
  • Structured around the capital chain. Content speaks to where you sit –  asset owner, fund manager, enterprise, intermediary – and to what you need from the others across the chain.
  • Concepts to practice bridge. Concepts are introduced through worked examples, guest speaker perspectives, and worksheets that you can apply to your own organization.
  • Grounded in African contexts. Cases draw on food systems, youth employment, and challenges relevant to the continent, connecting directly to the markets you work in.
  • Designed to fit your schedule efficiently. Four weeks from start to finish. Eight focused sessions, twice weekly, completed by the end of September.
  • A strong peer cohort. Join a group of mid-to-senior professionals shaping capital allocation and social impact across Africa, bringing expertise and experiences across multiple sectors.
  • A network that continues. Your peer relationships extend beyond the programme through AVPA’s ongoing community.
  • A recognised credential. Upon completion, you receive an IMM Certificate signed by both AVPA and Impact Frontiers.
