Course Description:
This comprehensive course, based on the acclaimed AVPA and Impact Frontiers webinar series, equips impact investors, social entrepreneurs, fund managers, and development practitioners with the frameworks and tools needed to measure, manage, and communicate social and environmental impact effectively. Grounded in the Impact Performance Reporting Norms (IPRN), the curriculum moves beyond basic reporting to embed impact into core decision-making and strategy. Participants will learn how to design rigorous impact frameworks, integrate the voices of affected communities, transparently report on both successes and challenges, and craft compelling narratives that blend quantitative data with qualitative storytelling.
Through practical case studies from leading African organisations like LEAP Africa, Fresh Life, FSD Africa, and the Trevor Noah Foundation, the course provides a contextualised, hands-on approach to impact management. Key modules cover the fundamentals of impact reporting, managing negative impacts, centring community voice in assessment, and using case studies for strategic communication. Designed for the African context, this course empowers leaders to build credibility, attract capital, and drive meaningful, sustainable change by managing impact, not just measuring it.
