Case Study: Altree Capital’s African Women and Climate Opportunity Fund

Altree Capital is building a portfolio at the intersection of gender and climate with its Altree Kadzi Africa Fund. These include funding for Ghanaian start-up Wahu Mobility, a Zambian apiary business with a focus on biodiversity protection, and Kenyan Sweetunda, focusing on healthy snacks, food waste prevention, sustainable farming and green manufacturing.

With an explicit focus on women-led or women-benefiting businesses and climate-aligned opportunities, Altree Capital underscores that decarbonization and inclusive growth can scale together. The fund invests in scalable, impactful SMEs that meet at least two of the 2X Challenge criteria, are climate-smart, show a willingness to adopt strong ESG practices and commit to impact data reporting.

This case sudy explores how the  Altree Kadzi Africa Fund provides catalytic capital and hands-on support to help early-stage companies grow, scale and drive impact in its communities.
