Course Description
The Africa Health Financing Forum is an impact leadership programme targeting investors, donors, governments and social entrepreneurs, designed to bridge the current healthcare funding gap, advance innovative financing models and provide funders as well as innovators with the tools needed to catalyse sustainable growth and healthcare investing.
The programme provides the opportunity to learn how to apply innovative finance to healthcare, connect and collaborate with other Pan-African investors and social entrepreneurs and become an integral part of a growing Community of Practice of Africa’s leading impact investors and practitioners.

Course Structure:
The programme comprises 6-week impact investing training sessions designed to build a strong community of leaders, and focusing on innovative finance approaches to address the healthcare funding gap. Participants will attend weekly online workshops with case studies and expert insights on funding models and de-risking private capital for African healthcare. The graduates will be recognized as African Impact Leaders.
After completing the Leadership Programme, participants will continue to an immersion programme designed to build a strong community of practice. Activities will include site visits, access to knowledge products, investor-ready deals, and more. The forum aims to train 50 social investors and entrepreneurs. The programme participation is priced at USD 1,500 per delegate.
Targeted Audience
- Health Social Investors: The social investors, recruited by AVPA from its network base, will include the full ‘Continuum of Capital Providers’; from grant-making foundations, aid agencies and governments to debt and private equity and VC funds, from development finance institutions to government healthcare agencies, from commercial banks to family offices.
